Submit Bat Observation

The NRMG has partnered with the US Forest Service Northern Region, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the Montana Natural Heritage Program, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service in order to help collect bat habitat information in Montana and Idaho. Please help by reporting all bat observations. If you go caving and don't see bats, please use the Submit Trip Report form. Information requested: Date of observation Location of cave/mine/etc Location of bats therein ("Big room," etc) Number of bats Bat activity (flying, roosting, dead, etc) Bat species (if known) Temperature/humidity (if obtained) Photos (ability to attach to report) The information collected within will be shared among agencies and grotto members. Annual reports are being compiled by Dan Bachen with the Montana Natural Heritage Program. Members will have the ability to browse submitted Bat Observations in the near future.
