All NRMG members are invited to virtually attend our upcoming series of presentations. We are hosting weekly Zoom presentations to deliver some of that sweet caving content we missed seeing at AGM. We will also use these presentations to share community announcements, award prizes, or just hang out with a drink in the comfort of our homes and chat about caving.
All presentations are hosted live at 7:00 PM MST (recordings will be posted afterward).
- May 17th – Fossils in Caves, Dr. Bruce A. Schumacher & Wm. Justin Wilkins (USFS Paleontologists)
- May 24th – Greenland Caving, Dr. Hazel Barton
How To Attend
If you have not used Zoom before, you will be prompted to download the program upon clicking the link. We highly recommend testing out your system to make sure your microphone and audio systems. Visit https://zoom.us/test anytime to join a test meeting and configure your settings. Please use headphones or a headset if you have them–it will prevent undesirable feedback when you ask questions or make a comment.
The special presentations will be moderated by a host (participants will be automatically muted) to make a better experience for everyone. You may use the chat button at the bottom of the screen, or click “raise my hand” to let the host know to unmute you for a question.
Outside of these presentations, we encourage folks to get together for virtual pub nights as frequently as they please. As a widespread Grotto, we are already used to staying in touch remotely. Maintaining our sense of community is more important now than ever!
Presentations will be Recorded
If you can’t attend during the scheduled time, or would like to share the presentation with non-members, we will post the entire presentation to the NRMG YouTube account in the days following the live presentation.
