After a long paperwork haul, the Northern Rocky Mountain Grotto is now a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This has been quietly in the works for a while and we’re glad to finally say it out loud.
Practically, this means a few things. Donations to the grotto — whether at AGM auction, to the Small Grant fund, or toward specific conservation projects — are now tax-deductible. It opens doors to a broader set of foundation grants we couldn’t previously apply for. And it puts us on firmer legal footing as we keep scaling up the survey work on the Bighorn/Horsethief project, Cave Creek, and the rest.
